ACE Brand Adjustable Thumb Stabilizer

I developed what my doctor called “texting thumb,” and my doctor recommended this thumb stabilizer brace. After reading reviews for other thumb stabilizers, I decided to go with this known brand. I have a bone spur at the base of my left thumb and that thing hurts when I move my thumb! As soon as I got the stabilizer and put it on, instant relief. Fits well, straps adjust perfectly, it's very comfortable, and there's just the right amount of thumb support without being restrictive for the rest of my hand. I wear it every day. Highly recommend.

I use this every day when I go on my laptop. It protects my thumb well BUT I have to replace it every few months because the Velcro strap goes bad. If you are planning to use this long term just keep that in mind.

I’m on my 4th purchase. One of only two products I’ve found that are comfortable, with enough pressure and added stability and flexible enough to work in. They do wear out but not sure how long they are supposed to last with frequent use?

I have bone on bone at the base of my right thumb. This is the best brace I have found for stabilizing my thumb, relieving pain and still leaving my hand very functional.

Just after 2 days, the pain in my thumb joint has decreased. It was a little uncomfortable at first because I have a large hand for a woman and this is just a little too small on the wrist. Figured out that I didn't need the wrist part tight because it still worked to immobilize the thumb joint if I strapped it loosely. All in all, worth the money.

So, I have an overuse injury of my left thumb (partial texting, partial bicycle riding, partial old hyper extension injury). What I need is to stabilize and decrease motion of the thumb so it can rest and heal. This injury used to be called a gamekeepers thumb (although my tendon is not avulsed). Since I believe in staying with name brands I tried this brace, and one by Mueller. Both are comfortable, both help remind me not to overuse the thumb, and both have stays, but this one allowed for too much movement and not enough support, especially at the wrist. So, not for me. As for fit, you hardly feel that you have anything on with this device (which is not what you need, by the way, you need support) and it also seemed a bit small for my hand (medium sized adult male). It also relies on elastic cording to provide a snug fit, and I know that elastic cording will loose elasticity over time, especially if you wash this (which hopefully you will). In conclusion: if all you need is a little support and a reminder not to overuse your thumb - this may well work. If you want true stability, I'd look elsewhere (perhaps the Mueller?). Lastly, I've seen others review these stabilizers with the intent of wearing them but still continuing to text. Newsflash, texting thumb is real and the way to heal that is, you guessed it, stop using your thumb to text!!!! This brace was returned in favor of the Mueller.

I tried several thumb braces & this ACE thumb stabilizer is the best for me. Its not bulky and it works . My thumb gets inflamed and swollen on the bottom pad. Cant open jars , grab things, twist door knobs etc. The brace supports my thumb so it can rest. I wear it 24/7 & all I can say is it works for me...
