Medium's are 23cm / 9in length and 10cm / 4in across the palm.

Can these be used for oven

I would say no as they have a metallic content to prevent you cutting yourself. I bought them for my Mum so she wouldn't cut herself as her hands shake terribly and they definitely do that job!!... great buy against getting cut but definitely wouldn't use them with a hot oven.

What size is the L and XL?

I guess if you are a male and you have big hands, go for L or XL. I am a girl :))) and bought M, and the gloves are a bit too big for me, but still perfectly functional.
