Intex 26651EG 3,000 GPH Above Ground Pool Sand Filter Pump with Automatic Timer

This is a great pump for a great price. I am so happy with this pump. It's one of the best purchases I have ever made from Amazon. This thing is an extremely powerful little awesome pump and filter. No more cleaning paper filters for me. Thank you Intex for making a great product. Now only question is how long will it last. It does come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty so that's wonderful! If you are wondering if it is a worthy buy, YES,JUST BUY IT. It will definitely save you time and money as it is already saving me money because I have not had to add as many chemicals as I did with the poor little pump that came with my pool as well as not needing to clean my filters daily just to keep my water somewhat decent and moving. I bought this pump to go with my 18' x 48" coleman vista steel above ground pool. It works wonders for my pool and my wallet. So far I have noticed, the pump creates a vortex tornado motion which makes all of the leaves and debris circle to the middle of the pool where I just scoop it up.This pump definitely keeps the water moving which is great for many reasons. One that algae doesnt really get a chance to sit if you are treating your water as needed. Two, distributes and keeps chemicals moving and less likely to settle to the bottom. Three will save money on many extra unnecessary chemicals because it will help keep water balanced and no need to keep cleaning and replacing filter cartridges. I ordered this pump ,which was supposed to take 3 weeks to arrive, it arrived in less than a week of my purchase date. Nice, I know, I am happy with that. Set up was very easy. Much of the parts are already put together. Be cautious as the seal rings are in tact and you dont want to lose them. All you need to do is connect the filter debris basket, pump and sand bucket to the base. Connect the hoses to the pump as directed. I did NOT need to purchase any extra parts or fittings because I connected the hoses to the hoses that came with my pool. You'll also need to connect the adapters to your pool. Make sure that you grease all of your rivets with vaseline or petroleum jelly as recommended by intex. You will need to buy 20 grade silica sand ( it does not come with sand) . Approximately 2.5 ,50 lb bags filled my sand pump to the recommended level, which I picked up for $11 usd at my local pool supply store. And the best part is you dont need to change filters frequently because this sand will filter your pool for 2-5 years. I wouldn't recommend that you use any sand except what is called for. I almost purchased the clorox brand pool filter sand but was steered to follow suit with what intex recommended plus many reviews on the clorox pool filter sand changed my mind. When adding sand make sure that you use the piece to cover the pump hole as you DONT WANT to get sand in your pump. It will help to distribute sand evenly around your sand bucket. First setting up is it is recommended that you rinse and backwash your sand filter pump to get best performance out of your sand filter pump. I've added a skimmer with a filter sock to my pool which also increases my pools ability to stay clean and save me from extra work. The pump comes with 6 settings. RECIRCULATE closes off filter basket and sends same unfiltered water back into pool which I use when adding chemicals to circulate and distribute chemicals evenly around the pool without settling to the bottom I use it for 30 mins to about an hour. This setting is also great for long trips away from home. Then FILTRATION which I use after circulating chemicals around pool to start filtering algae, debris etc. This setting cleans your water. WASTE- exactly what is. It sends out dirty water that you dont want back in your pool or filter. RINSE,almost exact same as waste ,rinses your sand.BACKWASH, also pretty much the same as waste. Sends junk and dirty water out of your pool. CLOSED, closes off all water flow to pool and pump. I would recommend this pump . It does its job and soo far I am very pleased. I havent had leaks , as I believe if you follow directions as instructed you will not have any issues. The price is well worth the purchase. Saves money, time, work, chemicals and it works as well as those high priced filter pumps. If this pump lasts only a couple years it still is worth the money it will save you ,and has saved me in only a few weeks. It does what it says it does and that includes all the time I was spending trying to balance and clean my pool l. Bought this pump and filter after trying to battle and oolder sand filter for the past two years with limited luck. Finally the multi valve broke and I found myself in the market for a new filter. I found this pump and filter on Amazon for a price cheaper than replacing just the sand filter which was on my pool when the multi port valve failed. Note: the instructions tell you not to use this pump and filter for a permanent pool, so I cannot tell you that I put it on my permanent 18 foot diameter above ground pool. <wink> Installation took a few minutes. Make sure you have the proper diameter hose fittings, you can find Intex adapters here on Amazon if you have 1.25" fittings. You will also need to purchase the appropriate pool filter sand from a local source. Within a couple hours of installation, the pool was crystal clear for the first time since I bought the house in the fall of 2016. The timer is a very nice feature, but note it is on a fixed 24 hour cycle for "Programming". You cannot actually set the start and stop times on clock time. So if you first turn it on at 8:04 in the morning and set it for eight hours, it will turn off at 4:04 in the afternoon and restart the following day at 8:04. The motor is quiet and @ 3/4 horsepower, it does a good job circulating the water in my pool. Long-term? I've read some individuals having failures after year, but this unit has a two-year warranty. All in all, a good product that does the job well.

This Intex 3,000 GPH pump and filter has been a total upgrade for our above ground pool. It moves a ton of water and keeps the pool sparkling clean with very little effort. We noticed a huge improvement in water clarity within the first day of using it. Setup was easy with clear instructions and all the necessary fittings included. One of my favorite features is the built-in timer setting—it’s super convenient and takes the guesswork out of daily run times. Just set it and forget it! If you’re looking for a reliable and high-performance pump, this one does the job right. Definitely worth the investment!

4 years later and still working like a champ. Great purchase

Replaced the pump and filter about 2 years ago from one of the cheap intex filters. Works great automatic easy to clean. Only 2 problems I have are the power button wore out last year and this year the labeling on the valve is coming off. Great flow, strong pump,

I looked up tons of reviews and different pump options trying to make my little pump that came with my 22x52 Coleman pool work I have bad well water and have spent tons of money on phosphate treatments metal removers etc... Everyone I know said if I upgrade to a sand pump it will change everything so I started looking into sand pumps I was reading the reviews on this one and it really gave me the dream of a blue pool in 3 days and it definitely did not disappoint I would recommend this pump to anybody and not even bother with those pumps that come with the pool well well worth the money! These pictures don't even show the exact because my camera is not that good but I definitely went from frustrated over two weeks of trying to get my pool up and going I bought this pump and in three days as the other reviews say definitely cleared my water! For the first time I went to pinch a Penny to get my water sample and all I needed was chlorine whereas before as I mentioned I had to purchase this and that every single time I went they had me putting in tons of acid phosphate remover metals remover this pump definitely changed everything I would most definitely recommend it's easier to maintain when it's time to clean the filter you simply back wash it after the first three days I left it running 24 hours after that I run at 8 hours I had to backwash it a total of 2 to 3 times it's been about a week and it's still showing no backwash needed it has an automated timer I no longer have to come and turn the pump on and off it does it by itself I haven't had it for that long but I definitely feel it's a quality pump it seems pretty durable and the pressure coming out is way more than what came with the pool!

I am loving the Intex sand filter and pump,It was super easy to hook up using the hose’s that came with the cartridge filter,We put the new jet in very easy I have to say,We removed the old one and I covered the intake with a bowl while my son got it ready to put in which was quite easy and fast to do,We had no leaks anywhere,I love the new jet which you can turn different directions on which way you prefer it to circulate,I love the bubbles so I keep it on that, I like the timer so I don’t have to worry about turning it on and off, I have had to backwash it twice and rinse,It cleared up my cloudy pool overnight which was iron I have a well so I knew it would have some,But it was more than I thought would be in it, I used all the right chemicals and tried to get it clear by using another sand filter I sent back it didn’t work as good as the cartridge filter which was terrible to deal with, I kid you not overnight my pool was clean and clear after hooking up the Intex sand filter and pump,My skimmer I bought because my Bestway pool didn’t have one is now working as it should and catching everything finally, I bought a mat to go under the ladder feet and it’ll stay unless the kids get a little rambunctious and it’ll move but no biggy, I can finally vacuum because of better suction, I am very happy with my decision to purchase the Intex which I had heard they were good, But after I read the reviews from other people who were pleased with it I decided to buy it, I would recommend to anyone to buy it,Like I said easy to hook up,has good suction and out put,It keeps my pool aerated and moving, I couldn’t ask for more then what I have gotten from the Intex sand filter and pump,This is coming from a diehard Hayward sand filter and pump person,The 3/4 HP is exactly what I needed and prefer to keep my pool clean and crystal clear and hardly had to add any chemicals to keep it that way, I hope my review helps others to decide if they want to buy it or not,It’s definitely a great sand filter and pump,Keeping it clean and clear!
